About the Role
Reporting to the MD and, as a member of the Executive team, your role will be accountable for providing strategic, change management and operational HR advice and oversee the communication function.  This role is responsible for planning, developing and directing policies as well as implementing procedures to maximize the company’s productivity by optimizing the effectiveness of employees. 

Your activities will include:
  • Develop a HR and Communications strategy with identified activities that align with the 2020 Strategic Plan and annual business plan and aligns with key stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Communication policies in consultation with other Senior management.
  • Manage the team in delivering human resources activities including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and data management and the communication function including external and internal communication, branding, corporate social responsibility and community relations in order to meet agreed business needs.
  • Support business strategies by ensuring there is a ready pipeline of internal talent identified and developed for future opportunities.
  • Ensure development of the Corporate Communications strategy and its inclusion in the Company’s 2020 Strategic plan.
About You
As the successful candidate, you are an experienced, well-balanced HR leader who is competent in all aspects of the HR field, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Management or Industrial Relations disciplines.
  • Significant internal consulting experience, preferably in a project-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commercial and business acumen.
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with key client and employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of Industrial Relations, legislative frameworks and concepts, including Employee Enterprise Agreements and Common Law contracts.
  • Experience in the civil construction or engineering sectors would be an advantage
