About the Organisation
Well established Australian market leader providing specialised services to the mining and resources sector.
Purpose of the Role:
A newly created opportunity for an experienced Senior HR practitioner to enable the business to achieve its goals by providing expertise in Employee / Industrial Relations and Human Resource management.     
  • Develop and Execute strategic plans focusing on productive and sustainable Industrial Relations outcomes; fostering a culture of engagement and alignment with organisational goals, and on increasing capability.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective ER/IR and HR practices and processes.
  • Drive continuous performance improvement through HR projects and initiatives and monitor effectiveness through relevant metrics and reporting.
  • Provide coaching, advice and feedback to increase others’ capability in ER / IR and HR Management.
  • Provide clarity on accountabilities and responsibilities so they are understood across the business and employees are delivering to expectation.
  • Support Organisational Change in Culture, Capability and Behaviour.            
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations / Industrial Relations Management
  • Develop ER/IR strategy: In conjunction with the EGM HR, develop and drive the Industrial Relations strategy aligned to the business strategy, tender processes and budget targets. Ensure the EA’s are productive and deliver sustainable outcomes.
Systems, Policies, Processes and Tools
  • Develop & Enhance, Implement and Educate: Work with the EGM HR and HR team to develop new and enhance existing HR policies, management systems, processes and tools based on progressive practices and organisational requirements. Engage with management and the workforce to generate input and ideas into the solution design; solutions are fit for purpose.  
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
  • Continuous improvement: Engage with Operations to understand evolving business requirements; identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in policy, systems, processes and tools.
  • Change Management: Consider the impact of change on workgroups and proactively communicate to affected workgroups when a change occurs.
Coaching, Advice & Feedback
  • Support the development of Managers and Supervisors so that they have the skills and capabilities required to manage employee/industrial relations matters and understand the related operational risks.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on HR data and information to support operational decision making. 
People Management
  • Role model the values and behaviours: Lead by example, holding team to account on their behaviour and key objectives; constructive working relationships between the HR team, National Office and the Operation teams.
About you:
Tertiary qualified in human resources or a related discipline, extensive experience in HR Management in an industrial environment. Extensive experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and leading negotiations. You will present broad generalist skill set gained from multiple industry sectors including heavy industry. Demonstrated capability in building relationships and delivering results in a fast-paced and commercial business. Demonstrate significant partnerships with senior leadership teams and experience advising senior stakeholder groups. Previous experience delivering a wide variety of multi-disciplined HR programs and projects. Experience in coaching and educating frontline populations. Working in a global environment will also be a distinct advantage.
