Secure a permanent position as an HR Manager within a blue-collar business in Canberra.

Your new company
Our client operates in a blue collar environment and currently seeks a highly experienced HR Manager to lead and manage HR function within ACT region. This is a key appointment offering a great degree of autonomy and responsibility over a broad range of HR functions.

Your new role
In a stand-alone capacity, your role as an HR Manager will see you working in a small, multi-site business environment where you will be responsible for a managing a broad range of generalist HR matters such as internal recruitment, L&D, coaching and mentoring and organizational development. Additionally, your role will require you to conduct mediations and disciplinary actions, handle bullying and harassment cases and oversea performance management process. Further, you may be dealing with the unions regarding employee and internal relations matters and be involved in wage, awards and legislation interpretation.

What you'll need to succeed
Our client is seeking a highly experienced HR professional who will be able to demonstrate a broad range of HR competencies as well as operational and strategic HR experience. As such, we are interested in hearing from candidates with the following experience:

  • Extensive experience in a similar generalist HR role, preferably in a blue collar industry
  • Specialist HR skillset and competent knowledge of ER/IR and unions negotiations
  • Previous experience interpreting employment legislation, awards and recognition laws
  • Performance management experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal, people and time management skills
  • Capacity to efficiently manage multiple competing demands and priorities
  • Resilience and drive
  • Highly attuned judgement and problem-solving skills
