My client is an ambitious and innovative technology company going through an exciting phase of its relatively short existence.  The business is set to grow both organically and through acquisition and this newly created role is seen as a key hire to facilitate and support that growth.  

Supporting with and working closely with the HR Director, this newly created role will assume responsibility for the BAU Generalist HR Department, overseeing two staff member, acting as leader, mentor and point of escalation.  Responsibilities in this area include - 
  • Overall responsibility for complex ER / Investigations
  • Overseeing a 'business partnering' approach - providing managers with the advice and tools to make good people related decisions
  • Support the HR Director to align HR strategy to Business Strategy '
  • Advise on Workforce Planning, Remuneration and Performance
The role also has a heavy project bias, covering areas such as - 
  • Change Management, predominantly M&A related
  • Organisational Design
  • HR Projects including - System Implementation, EVP, Talent Management, New Policy Development 
To secure this role you will be an experienced generalist ideally with exposure to a medium sized business environment.  A strong understanding of Australian and  (ideally) New Zealand  employment legislation is required as is an ability to lead a small team.  Sector background is unimportant but it is likely that you have supported corporate, sales or technical groups.  The style and attitude of the individual will be key in this position; you will need to be pragmatic, down to earth and flexible in your approach.  A commercial approach to stakeholder management is also a necessity in an environment where a jargon-free, direct communication is valued.
