Your new company

Your new role
The People & Culture team are committed to delivering expertise, programs and service for the Council. This role reports directly to the P&C Manager and is part of the P&C Leadership team. You will:

  • Evolve the teams capability across their core functions
  • Deliver outstanding service, advice and solutions to the organisation
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation at all levels
  • Ensure Council's people operations policies and approaches comply with legislative requirements
  • Develop the use of Council's HR Information Management Systems and workforce reports

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a strong people leader and have demonstrated experience in managing a HR Operations team that has shown a commitment to continuous improvement, the use of relevant and modern HR practices and the development of effective HR policies and programs.

Your HR operations knowledge will span across recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, people advisory and workforce analytics and be underpinned by a refined management style that fits with the organisation. It is also important that you will be able to demonstrate your personal qualities (initiative, self-awareness and emotional intelligence), approach/methodology to project and change management and outstanding communication (verbal and written) skills.

Experience within Local Government or another complex public sector organisation is highly desirable, and you will hold or be working towards a tertiary qualification in HR or a related field.
