People & Culture Systems Manager - Contract

Our client within the public sector requires a maternity leave cover for their People and Culture systems manager. This role is effectively a hybrid of an HR Business partner and a payroll/systems manager.

Reporting into the people & culture manager, you will be leading a team of 2 to ensure provision of payroll and human resources information system (HRIS/Chris21), workforce data and metrics reporting, support and authoritative advice in relation to payroll and employment conditions, P&C policies and legislation. Working with the Manager, People and Culture, the role is also responsible for developing strategies aimed at resolving significant and complex system and employment conditions matters.

Key accountability's:

  • Manage the provision of chris21, ensuring compliance to relevant legislation, employee conditions and awards.
  • Oversee the management of payroll and employment conditions, ensuring the effective delivery of accurate and timely end to end payroll and administration.
  • Manage HRIS upgrades, including user acceptance testing
  • Provide data, metrics, analysis and comprehensive reports on complex issues
  • Work closely with the Manager, People and Culture, to provide the full range of generalist human resources services, including management of employment conditions, performance management, mediation and misconduct, occupational health and safety, workers compensation, recruitment, learning and development and workforce planning.

To be successful you must have:

  • Technical expertise in chris21 including experience in implementation, maintenance and administration of the system
  • Demonstrated capability in workforce data reporting and analysis, preferably within a public sector environment.
  • Previous experience in leading a team
  • Sounds HR Generalist knowledge
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing end to end payroll, preferably using chris21, is desirable.
