Our client within the public sector requires and Senior ER advisor to deliver high quality expert Employee Relations (ER) advise and support to stakeholders, provide authoritative and strategic advice on ER policy and practices and offer solutions aligned with organisational priorities and values; and build influential partnerships with a range of stakeholders to deliver positive people and culture outcomes. (Initial 3 month temporary assignment)

Key accountabilities

  • Provide authoritative analysis, advice and support to people managers and staff on Employee Relations (ER)
  • Responsible for providing ER expertise, strategic advice and operational support on a wide range of ER issues, including managing internal complaints and grievance process
  • Provide guidance, advice and coaching to People and Culture team members on all ER matters. Act as a senior subject matter expert on all things Employee Relations to the rest of the People and Culture team. Coach and train People and Culture team members in complex ER practice to uplift the ER capability, knowledge and skills in the team.
  • Manage complex and sensitive ER cases end-to-end, including running internal investigations, including appropriate record keeping and knowledge management. Lead and manage ER case management process for the Department.

Key selection criteria

  • Extensive ER capability across the full ER spectrum including complaints and grievances handling, case management, running internal investigation process, coordinating external investigation process.
  • Demonstrable success and expertise in delivering comprehensive, complex and accurate ER advice on a range of complex ER matters including but not limited to: employee relations, performance management, case management, ER and FWA legislation.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and experience in identifying, advising and resolving complex people issues;
  • Ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders through strong interpersonal and relationship management capability.
