Shore is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School emphasising excellence in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits and fostering integrity in moral and spiritual development in a Christian environment.

Applications are invited for the position of Staffing Specialist at Shore School. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to design, develop and embed new recruitment and selection processes for the School. This full-time, fixed term position will commence in Term 3 and requires the following:

  • Facilitating the development and implementation of contemporary recruitment and selection policy, processes and systems
  • Ensuring the employee value proposition is embedded in all aspects of the selection and onboarding process
  • Developing proactive recruitment strategies that deliver the workforce plan
  • Managing relationships with external partners
  • Embedding the school’s Christian Purpose, Vision and Values
  • Supporting the implementation of the people and culture strategy

The Staffing Specialist is an essential member of the People and Culture functional team. The staffing specialist is responsible for the end-to-end attraction and selection process, as well as providing specialist advice and coaching to hiring managers. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the School’s permanent staffing policies, processes, and systems. In partnership with the Director of People and Culture, they will contribute specialist knowledge and insights to the development and implementation of the School’s Employee Value Proposition. They will also develop and implement a program of upskilling hiring managers in contemporary and effective recruitment processes.
To be successful, you will:

  • Be able to develop and implement contemporary strategies, policies and procedures to maximise Shore’s ability to attract and retain high performing staff
  • Have experience in identifying, scoping, recommending, and implementing fit for purpose recruitment systems and processes
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in HR/IR or a related discipline
  • Have significant (minimum of five years) recruitment and selection experience. Experience derived from within or for the Education sector is highly desirable
  • Demonstrate diplomacy and have a strong appreciation of the confidential nature of recruitment processes
  • Have a high level of motivation and a positive attitude and ability to work with and coach others
  • Be able to think creatively and conceptually when approaching problems
  • Have a valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • Be expected to take part in the School’s Chapel services and demonstrate active support for the School’s Christian Ethos.
