About the Position

Working closely with the CEO and a staff of approx. 20, this role will be instrumental in bringing together people of diverse backgrounds and skill levels into a cohesive, focused and capable team, working effectively together to achieve quality outcomes for staff, managers and the community CAAMA serves.  You will also lead the internal HR function, establishing fit-for-purpose systems and processes and laying the foundation for ongoing training and professional development activities.

Your experience will include planning and implementing staff development initiatives that include hands-on coaching and mentoring; you’ll be capable of establishing an internal HR function for the organisation and have a sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, award interpretation and the Fair Work Act.

Your knowledge and understanding of Indigenous issues and culture and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people is critical; ideally, you will have held a previous role in an Indigenous-led organisation.

About the Benefits

This is a truly unique opportunity, with flexible terms to be agreed with the successful candidate.  Package includes a base salary circa $100,000 plus superannuation, 5 weeks leave and salary packaging (all on a pro-rata basis).  Depending on candidate circumstances, some accommodation and relocation support will be negotiated.
