Your new role
As an HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, end-to-end HR services across the department. You will provide expert advice on APS people policy, manage complex HR queries, and support executive-level reporting and workforce planning. This is a diverse and fast-paced role suited to a confident HR professional who thrives on variety and challenge.
Key responsibilities include:

Provide accurate and timely advice to staff on APS employment frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Manage and respond to a broad range of HR queries from staff and managers.

Support workforce planning, HR metrics, and executive reporting.

Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support performance management, recruitment, and learning and development.

Assist in case management and workplace relations matters as required.
What you'll need to succeed

Demonstrated experience in a generalist or relevant HR role within the APS.

Strong understanding of the APS employment framework, including the Public Service Act and relevant enterprise agreements.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.

High attention to detail and analytical skills, particularly in HR reporting and data interpretation.

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
High-performing APS5 candidates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
