12-month contract opportunity with local government

Your new company

We are partnering with a Local Government organisation to recruit a Change and Capability Lead to deliver high‑impact community projects on a 12‑month contract in the Brisbane CBD.

Your new role

The Change and Capability Lead builds organisation‑wide capability in project, change and benefits management through the delivery of a structured capability development program, including standards, frameworks and learning. The role also leads the change management approach for enterprise project services, overseeing communications, knowledge management and training to support consistent adoption and continuous improvement. Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Lead a accustomedness, high‑performance culture through clear direction, coaching and role modelling.
  • Build project, change and benefits management capability through the design and delivery of effective learning initiatives.
  • Drive the implementation and evaluation of capability‑building programs to support successful outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance on instructional design and contemporary project and change management practices.
  • Maintain and enhance learning resources, knowledge platforms and communities of practice.
  • Oversee onboarding, mandatory training and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Develop and deliver change, communication and engagement plans to support adoption of new ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborative networks to support continuous improvement and capability uplift.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong leadership capability with a demonstrated ability to drive high standards, accountability and positive workplace behaviours.
  • Proven experience creating and delivering capability uplift initiatives that strengthen organisational project and change effectiveness.
  • Advanced understanding of contemporary project and change approaches, including tools used to assess and improve maturity.
  • Ability to design engaging learning solutions informed by adult education principles and diverse learning preferences.
  • Demonstrated success supporting the adoption of new ways of working within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Sound analytical capability to identify capability gaps, assess needs and inform improvement strategies.
  • High‑level communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and contributing to complex written materials.
  • Strong interpersonal capability, with a collaborative approach to working across teams, disciplines and leadership levels.
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualifications in training and assessment, project and/or change disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience partnering with external providers within complex regulatory, political or industrial settings.
