Temporary HR Advisor opportunity

As the Senior People & Culture Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering expert guidance across employee relations, industrial relations, organisational change, and leadership capability. You'll work closely with leaders, union representatives, and cross‑functional teams to ensure fair, compliant, and people‑centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Employee & Industrial Relations
  • Manage complex ER matters including grievances, misconduct, and performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements, the Fair Work Act, and internal policies.
  • Build strong relationships with unions and support enterprise bargaining and industrial action processes.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on strategic and operational people matters.
  • Coach leaders to strengthen capability in performance, team management, and people challenges.
  • Align workforce planning with organisational goals through close collaboration with business units.
Case Management
  • Lead complex casework including investigations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure fair and timely outcomes aligned with legal and organisational standards.
  • Maintain accurate case records for reporting and audit requirements.
Change Management & Organisational Development
  • Support restructures and organisational change with best‑practice consultation and communication.
  • Advise on workforce planning to minimise risk and disruption.
  • Guide leaders through role redesign and transition processes.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Mitigation
  • Develop and review P&C policies to ensure contemporary and compliant practice.
  • Identify workforce risks early using data insights and stakeholder feedback.
  • Champion legislative compliance across the organisation.
Culture & Engagement
  • Partner with leaders to build culture aligned with organisational values.
  • Support engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives that enhance employee experience.
  • Respond to people trends with data‑driven insights and tailored interventions.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide ER/IR reporting and insights to inform decision‑making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR practices and processes.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional projects that elevate the People & Culture function.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate qualification in HR or related field (required).
  • Postgraduate qualification in HR, Business Administration, or similar (desirable).
Knowledge & Expertise
  • Expert knowledge of Australian employment law including the Fair Work Act and NES.
  • Deep understanding of industrial relations including Awards, EAs, and common law.
  • Strong grasp of procedural fairness and natural justice.
  • Comprehensive P&C functional knowledge across all HR domains.
  • Expertise in privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Understanding of employment contract law and evidence‑based documentation.
  • Strong business acumen with stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Aged care industry knowledge is highly regarded.
