HR Advisor - Contract

Your new role

This position works closely with the People and Culture Officer and Manager to deliver on a range of Human Resource related functions and strategic initiatives to support the business achieve its strategic goals and support a harmonious and happy workplace relations environment. This position is also a trusted advisor and support mechanism to the broader organisation in matters relating to People and Culture.

Duties include:

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor and 'go to' for managers and employees when they experience general workplace relations issues, including grievances, attendance, performance or conduct issues and offer advice and coaching to line managers on appropriate next steps in line with our systems, escalating matters to the P&C Business Partner where appropriate.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to support their current and upcoming workforce planning needs, including through creation and review of position descriptions, benchmarking, succession and development planning.
  • Support the People and Culture Officer and delegate any general HR related tasks, such as recruitment and employee document management.
  • Review and ensure new contracts or changes in contracts have the appropriate approvals and that offered terms and conditions are accurate.
  • Maintain an up to date Establishment Table for all budgeted positions.
  • In consultation with the P&C Business Partner, maintain an up to date classification table reflect all positions within the organisation.
  • Deliver accurate End of Month and other ad hoc HR reports as requested.
  • Be proactive in maintaining a sound understanding of contemporary HR practices and also applicable NDIS guidelines relevant to the P&C team.
  • Assist with internal or external audits when required
  • Assist with other general People and Culture related tasks when required, including assisting at special events or with ad hoc projects

What you'll need to succeed

  • Intermediate administrative skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
  • Minimum of 3 years working an end to end HR role, with experience responding to general employee or manager enquiries and concerns.
  • A working knowledge of applicable HR/IR legislation and the ability to interpret legislation or guidelines, in particular in relation to workplace relations matters.
  • HR related qualification
