Your new role

This role provides business focused, operational human resource advisory and people management support services to assigned portfolios and facilitate service delivery and assist decision making that is aligned to organisational objectives.

Responsiblities include:

  • Productive work performance, including performance, conduct and safety of staff under day-to-day supervision.
  • Allocation of tasks to staff under day-to-day supervision within limits set by the Coordinator ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of resources.
  • Contributes to a cohesive team environment by sharing information, supporting and assisting colleagues in a proactive manner to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Contributes to the development of business improvement initiatives, as well as encouraging active participation of staff under day-to-day supervision.
  • Engages with customers and stakeholders, enabling the consistent application policies, procedures and processes.
  • Provides timely advice, guidance and support to Leaders on operational human resource and employee relations matters, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedure, ensuring alignment to organisational objectives.
  • Identify potential human resource and employee relations issues that may have an adverse impact on organisational effectiveness, and recommend appropriate interventions to minimise potential risk or enhance service delivery from a people and culture perspective.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Human Resources is required.
  • Relevant experience is a similar role is required.
  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in supervising the work of others, providing technical assistance and motivating staff.
  • Advanced research and analysis skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant human resource legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace, including risk assessment and control implementation.
  • Valid police check
  • Availability at short notice
