Your new company

We are partnering with a state government organisation to recruit an HR Project Support Officer based in the Brisbane CBD. This is a short‑term contract commencing 11 May 2026 through to 30 June 2026, supporting the delivery of public services that contribute to positive community outcomes across Queensland.

Your new role

This role provides essential administrative and coordination support within the Human Resources function, working as part of the People Capability Command. You will be a key point of contact for project‑related enquiries, contributing to smooth operations and timely outcomes. Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Manage and prioritise enquiries received through a centralised project inbox, ensuring matters are addressed in line with agreed timeframes.
  • Classify and log requests using established tracking and reporting processes to maintain clear workflow oversight.
  • Prepare and issue accurate responses using approved templates, escalating more complex matters when required.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records and spreadsheets to support reporting, auditability, and project visibility.
  • Assist with documentation and information required to progress overpayment and recovery processes.
  • Provide general administrative support including record management, document control, correspondence preparation and file maintenance.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues or inefficiencies and contribute ideas to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Complete other administrative tasks as needed to support successful delivery of project and team objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience delivering reliable and timely administrative support in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, follow direction, and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Sound to advanced digital capability, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications and working with data or record‑keeping systems.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally at all levels of an organisation.
  • The ability to quickly interpret information, identify key details, and apply sound judgement in an administrative context.
