This standalone role offers a high degree of flexibility, with the option to work school hours spread across five days, making it well suited to an HR professional seeking balance without sacrificing responsibility or impact.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the HR Specialist will provide end-to-end generalist HR support across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring best practice, compliance and a positive employee experience.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding
- Supporting employee engagement, retention and performance management
- Managing performance reviews, disciplinary matters and case investigations
- Providing timely, practical generalist HR advice to leaders and employees
- Award and industrial instrument interpretation
- Responding to employee queries and maintaining accurate employee records and files
- Management of workers' compensation claims, injury management and return-to-work programs
- Oversight and administration of apprenticeships and traineeships
- Ensuring that policies, processes and procedures are current and fit for purpose
To be successful in your application, you will possess proven experience in a generalist role, ideally within a contracting or similar small business. You will have a sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards for Australia and have a prior working knowledge of modern awards. Prior experience of managing workers' compensation and injury management is essential and the ability to deal with the required external resources. You will be confident, approachable and build trusted relationships at all levels. You will be highly organised, flexible and enjoy managing the entire HR function.
This position will be offered 3 days per week either across 5 days or 3 full days.
This is an opportunity to play a key role within a growing business, supported by a grounded, collaborative leader who appreciates human resources as an added value function.
