3-month temporary HR contract

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a large, complex organisation?

Hays is partnering with a well-regarded organisation in Canberra seeking an experienced People Partner to join their People & Culture team. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will provide strategic and operational HR support while contributing to a range of workforce initiatives and organisational change programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a people-focused HR professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, navigating complex employee matters and influencing positive organisational outcomes.

The Role
As a trusted advisor, you will:
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and provide expert people advice.
  • Support and coach managers through employee relations matters, including performance, conduct and workplace issues.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational design and change initiatives.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies and industrial instruments.
  • Provide guidance across the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance and capability development.
  • Support the delivery of strategic People & Culture initiatives.
  • Contribute to workforce risk management and governance activities.
  • Work collaboratively across the broader People & Culture team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in a Human Resources Business Partner, People Partner or Senior HR Advisor role.
  • Strong employee relations and case management experience.
  • Proven ability to influence and build credibility with managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
