We are partnered with a Federal Government Agency in Townsville to recruit a Senior Advisor - People and Performance.
Your new role
The Senior Advisor - People and Performance works closely with internal clients to build understanding of business needs and champion ongoing process and capability improvements and works in close consultation with other areas of People Services to facilitate streamlined service delivery.
In this temporary assignment, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Provide specialist HR advice on agreements, legislation, and policy, with evidence-based recommendations.
- Build strong relationships to deliver consistent, professional, and modern HR services.
- Manage performance, misconduct, and conflict cases, and support informal resolutions.
- Lead or support workplace enquiries, reporting, and outcome delivery in line with requirements.
- Build supervisor capability through training and guidance to support agency performance.
- Prepare quality briefs, reports, and responses to reviews of action.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- 3+ Years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex material, including formal letters and briefs of evidence.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and fact-finding enquiries to draw conclusions and make evidence-based recommendations and findings.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with conflict and resolve difficult situations.
- Relevant qualifications in workplace relations, human resources or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience in coaching and mediation is desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of the APS employment framework and applicable legislation is highly desirable.
