HR Safety Advisor is required for a highly regarded educational institution.

Your new company

A highly respected independent school with a long history of educational excellence is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources and Safety Advisor to join its professional operations team. With a reputation for strong values, exceptional teaching and learning, and a supportive community culture, the School offers a unique opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a varied, people‑focused role.

Your new role

This pivotal position is responsible for delivering day‑to‑day generalist HR, employee relations and safety functions in a proactive, service-oriented and hands-on manner. Working closely with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team and key administrative stakeholders, you will play an integral role in shaping and supporting the school's people and culture objectives. You will lead recruitment and induction activities across teaching and corporate areas, partnering with hiring managers, coordinating selection processes, overseeing onboarding and ensuring compliance with all credentialing and employment requirements. Your ability to build strong working relationships and provide clear, practical advice will be essential as you support managers and staff across a range of employee relations matters.

The role is equally significant in supporting the school's safety, compliance and risk obligations. You will contribute to safety management planning, ergonomic assessments, incident monitoring and emergency preparedness. Working alongside the Policy and Compliance Manager, you will assist with return to work processes, contractor engagement, safeguarding requirements, and the development of best practice WHS procedures. Your strong organisational capability and attention to detail will underpin your management of HR records, contracts, reporting and policy development.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will bring demonstrated experience in a similar human resources role, ideally with exposure to safety and compliance functions. You will be confident reading and interpreting legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, and experienced in supporting managers with employee relations issues, training and induction. With strong communication skills, professional judgement and the ability to work autonomously, you will be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Highly developed administrative skills, competency across Microsoft Office applications and a commitment to collaborative team delivery will be essential. Experience in the education sector and relevant tertiary qualifications will be looked upon favourably.

What you'll get in return

This role offers the chance to contribute to a values‑led organisation that places the wellbeing, safety and development of its staff and students at the centre of everything it does. You will be joining a supportive, professional team in a school that is committed to maintaining the highest standards of child safety, work health and wellbeing, and professional integrity.
