Lead safety and compliance across construction projects and make a real impact in a hands-on leadership role.

Known for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects, they are committed to maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and environmental compliance. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative team culture, they are seeking a proactive and experienced WHS / Compliance Manager to lead their safety and compliance initiatives.

Your new role

Reporting to the Director and Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the company's Work Health & Safety (WHS), Quality, and Environmental systems. This includes maintaining ISO certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001), leading audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with legislation and client requirements. You'll work closely with project teams across multiple sites, driving a positive safety culture and embedding best practices throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Lead risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations.
Deliver WHS training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
Maintain ISO certifications and coordinate internal/external audits.
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and industry standards.
Support prequalification and accreditation processes.
Engage with stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and clients.

What you'll need to succeed

Certificate IV in WHS or higher qualification in safety, risk, or compliance.
Proven experience in WHS and compliance management, ideally within civil construction.
Strong understanding of ISO standards and WHS legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead.
A proactive, hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
