We're seeking an experienced HR professional to join a high-performing federal agency team as an APS6 People Policy and Workplace Relations Officer. In this role, you'll provide expert advice on employment policies, support HR projects, and contribute to the development and implementation of people policies and workplace relations initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreements, policies, and legislation
- Develop and review employment-related policies and procedures
- Provide advice on employee relations and performance matters
- Support HR projects and business process improvements
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across the APS
Key Skills Required:
- HR expertise, particularly on workplace conditions in an APS context
- Understanding and application of HR legislation, including the Public Service Act and Enterprise Agreements
- Ability to develop and draft HR policies and processes under limited direction
- Experience supporting the implementation of finalised policies
- Strong stakeholder engagement, including working with subject-matter experts
- Ability to review and evaluate existing policies
- Skilled in drafting communications for various audiences (e.g. intranet, stakeholder groups)
- Confident in providing sound advice on workplace conditions and policy queries
