Our client, a leading Fortune 500 manufacturer, is seeking a highly engaged and hands-on Temporary HR Generalist to provide essential support to their operational team. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of employee engagement and a collaborative workplace culture for approximately 100 blue-collar production and operational staff.
The Role:
You will serve as the primary HR interface and first point of contact for general HR queries
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations (ER): Act as the first point of contact for all HR queries, managing grievances, disciplinary matters, and ensuring proactive conflict resolution.
- Award & Compliance Expertise: Provide expert guidance on the Modern Award, ensuring accurate application for shifts, overtime, allowances, and leave.
- Performance & Coaching: Coach supervisors and managers on effective performance documentation, managing Performance Improvement Plans and fair termination processes.
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) / Injury Management: Closely coordinate with the Safety Team on workplace injury cases, conducting fitness for work assessments, and managing timely Return-to-Work programs.
- HR Administration: Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle administration for site staff, ensuring HR data integrity and process efficiency.
- Talent Management Support: Assist with initiatives focused on attracting, developing, and retaining site staff.
About you:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years as an HR Generalist, with proven exposure to a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Critical Skill: Demonstrated ability to manage Employee Relations autonomously with sound judgement, confidentiality, and fairness.
- Legislation: Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the Fair Work Act and expertise in applying Modern Awards.
- Attributes: A confident coach who can quickly build trust with a diverse workforce, from machine operators to senior site leadership.
