An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and embed a strong safety culture within a purpose-driven organisation operating across Sydney. This is a pivotal leadership role, combining both strategic oversight and hands-on delivery of work health and safety (WHS) frameworks, systems and initiatives across a diverse operational environment.
Your new role
Reporting into the People & Culture function, you will take ownership of the organisation's WHS strategy, systems and compliance.

Lead and drive a proactive, organisation-wide safety culture

Develop, implement and continuously improve the WHS Management System

Oversee incident management, investigations and root cause analysis

Manage workers compensation and return-to-work programs

Ensure compliance with NSW WHS legislation and ISO accreditation requirements

Lead risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation strategies

Drive initiatives around psychosocial safety, wellbeing and mental health

Deliver WHS training and build capability across the business

Provide expert WHS advice to senior leaders and stakeholders

Oversee emergency management and critical incident planning
What you'll need to succeed

Tertiary qualifications in WHS (minimum Graduate Diploma or equivalent)

Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within a complex environment (5+ years)

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance and risk management frameworks

Demonstrated expertise in incident management, workers compensation and psychosocial risk

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels

A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
